Sheet metal constructions - Designed in Autodesk Inventor

Designed in Autodesk Inventor

Figure 1. Sheet metal construction
Sheet metal is simply metal formed into thin and flat pieces. It is one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and can be cut and bent into a variety of different shapes.

There are many different metals that can be made into sheet metal (aluminium, brasscoppersteeltinnickel and titanium).

This was my first project where I used sheet metal modul, that's integrated in Autodesk Inventor. Sheetmetal is a module within the the basic package of Autodesk Inventor, which is used for making parts out of sheets. Way of modeling is slightly different from solid modeling, because here the model is constructed with so called walls.

For this project I designed two simple sheet metal constructions:

Example 1. Actuator bracket

Example 2. Protective box
